This Wednesday (July 30th) the GMG’s bringing Skillswap back to the Shire, now branded as “Tecchie Laptop Sessions”. The first of the events (which are hopefully going to take place on a regular basis) is focused on “Social Networking” and I’ve been asked to head up the discussion. The lovely people at the GMG are providing beer and snacks - so if you fancy joining a group of like minded Gloucestershire folk just email Emma and let her know.
From the GMG site:
Time: 7.30pm-9pm
Date(s): 30th Jul 2008
Event Info: A small session for the tecchie bods amongst us… these sessions will be quarterly and are aimed at a small gathering to discuss and share their knowledge, peer to peer learning idea in a safe setting - social speak not techno speak so everyone feels comfortable…. I enviasge this to be a good solid sub-sector group to GMG which will gradually form and thus network and thus collaborate on future projects and work. We will kick off with the discussion tonight focusing on social networking exploring the vast array of networks on offer and how it can benefit our own media businesses and indeed our clients… am sure conversation will digress and future topics are up to you (blogging?)! Chips and beer on us - just bring your laptop if you have one and your know how!
